About Dr. Mendoza (he/him)

Dr. Mendoza is a licensed psychologist (PSY34372), with over 8 years of clinical experience. Dr. Mendoza graduated from Alliant International University with a doctorate (2021) and master's (2018) in Clinical Psychology and an emphasis in Health and Multicultural and International Psychology. Dr. Mendoza completed his APA predoctoral residency at Ohio State University (2020), and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge (2015). 

Dr. Mendoza’s professional interests and experiences include neuropsychological assessments, trauma, anxiety management, relationship issues, grief, depression, men’s issues, and identity development. His professional experience includes working with persons who stutter, active duty military, teens, college-aged students, children, and geriatric populations. He has worked in many different settings, including non-profit community mental health, residential treatment, college counseling centers, and substance use rehabilitation centers. 

Dr. Mendoza’s therapy style, as well as supervision style, is intentionally integrated, meaning he does not pull solely from one theoretical orientation nor use only one set of specific techniques. Rather Dr. Mendoza aims to understand the client as an individual with multiple intersecting identities and to utilize modalities that are most appropriate for each concern. Dr. Mendoza strongly believes that the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in therapy. He works to provide an atmosphere of unconditional positive regard, empathic understanding, and genuineness for each person he is fortunate to work with. Dr. Mendoza's philosophy is to "Own Your Story."
